The Refractive Surgery Journal Appoints Paul Dougherty, M.D. to
Editorial Board
Highly Prestigious Honor Reserved for World’s Foremost Specialists
Los Angeles – July 14, 2005 – Renowned vision correction surgeon Paul J.
Dougherty, M.D. has been selected to serve on the editorial board of the
Refractive Surgery Journal. With this highly prestigious honor, Dr.
Dougherty joins an elite group of specialists known internationally for
their contributions to the field of vision correction.
The Refractive Surgery Journal is the official peer-reviewed journal
of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the affiliated
International Society of Refractive Surgery. Each bimonthly issue serves
as a forum for original research, review and evaluation of refractive
and corneal surgery procedures. The Journal’s editorial board currently
includes just 39 surgeons from around the world, 20 of whom are from the
U.S.

The Refractive Surgery Journal is not the first peer-reviewed journal
to ask Dr. Dougherty to provide peer review. He also currently serves as
a reviewer for the American Journal of Ophthalmology and the Journal of
Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
About Paul Dougherty, M.D.
Dr. Dougherty is medical director and chief refractive surgeon at
Dougherty Laser Vision, which has offices in Los Angeles, Camarillo,
Santa Barbara and Thousand Oaks. He also serves as a clinical instructor
at UCLA's Jules Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Dougherty has performed laser
vision correction since 1993. He lectures internationally on a range of
refractive and corneal surgery issues, and has authored numerous studies
published in leading peer-reviewed journals.
